It snows 3 times a night a Disneyland during the Christmas season. This one was right after the fireworks.

Disneyland. They've really stepped up the holiday decorations this year. The snow on the castle is awesome.

The ornament

This ornament was put on our tree just yesterday. It's lit only by the little lights on the tree.

Full moon over South San Francisco

On the way to the grocery store this evening, I saw this HUGE, bright, full moon.

Pecan Pie -- Up Close...

Pie Closeup

It looks really good, but it works out to something like 15 points for 1/12 of the pie. Since that ain't happenin' for fat-boy here, it's strictly for the boys.

Twilight and cars

cars and twilight

I liked the juxtaposition of the mesh of cars riding below the obliquely lit sky.

T (as in Thanksgiving) minus 2

T minus 2

I think we have everything we need for the big T-Day dinner. I tried to lay it all out, but I'm sure I missed some things.

Old Blue Eyes...

Old Blue Eyes

I think Ziggy is the reincarnation of Frank Sinatra. Just look at those eyes.

The Painted Ladies

Painted Ladies

The last of the shots from the trip around SF with Sylvia and Bill.

This is the famous "Painted Ladies" -- a set of Victorians next to Alamo Square Park.

The best sunset picture I've ever taken...

Sunset trees

While Sylvia and Bill were in town, we got some really great sunset pictures, including this one.

Installed the Leopard today...

I wiped my mac and installed Leopard today.

The pictures and music are transferring over from the backup drive as I write this.

The Cousin and her husband...

Sylvia and Bill

As mentioned before, my cousin and her husband visited yesterday, and we got to see some really great sites (some of which will be the subject of future posts).

This one was taken right after sunset in Daly City.

58,000 gallons of oil

Oil in water

Went with my cousin and her husband sightseeing around town. We ended up down at Fort Point. The rocks were chained off and this sign was up.

Expect several more shots from today in the days to come.

No oil here...

No oil here

I was very worried that the oil from the container ship accident would come down as far as where we work. As you might know from previous entries, we have a pacific harbour seal that lives in that part of the bay (we call her "Heidi") and we were concerned that she would be affected by the oil.

As of now, as you can see, we don't seem to seeing any of the nasty guck.

Nice tree

We found a really nice artificial Christmas tree today. It's prelit with LED lights, so it's low energy and low heat. The lights are still pretty bright and the tree is very well made.

It's also a tad expensive.

A promise kept...

Good to their word

Back on October 25th, I posted the story about the socks I love and my inability to find them anymore.

A couple of days after I posted, a representative from a PR firm representing the manufacturer of these socks contacted me with an explanation of what was happening with the brand, and even offering to send me some of the socks free of charge.

True to her word, I received these today.

Gold Toe, and their sub-brand Auro, rock. The socks are so comfortable, and so eco-friendly (they are made of bamboo, the fastest growing plant on the planet), you just can't go wrong with them. And now, they are graduating to the parent brand.

In short, the promise was kept, the socks are awesome, and I absolutely love this company.

Night traffic

night traffic

With the time change, and the new moon, it freakin' dark when I leave work for home now.

For some reason, traffic is out of hand too. I got stuck on a bridge across 101 at a stop light for what seems like forever. I snapped this out my window in landscape mode (no flash).

Also, with it being dark so much, I've got pretty much no time for pictures, so I have to take what I can get.

Bottles of water...

bottles

Can you tell that I didn't get out of the house with the camera today? Close up of the case of water that Andy bought from Costco.

My sweet wife...

Laughing Caryn

Today is my darling wife's birthday. I thought this picture does a good job of showing some of the personality that I love and adore.

Happy birthday, Caryn!!

Party!!

Party!!

A group of friends of ours, whom The Discourser aptly refers to as "The Superfriends", threw a surprise birthday party for Caryn at a local Mexican eatery.

It was beyond nice. The food, the conversation, and especially the company were outstanding. We are blessed by a wonderful bunch of friends.

One tired pup...

Pooped Pup

Our Friday dog sitter (aka, the ever awesome Shura) has obtained the services of a fairly hard core dog walker/runner. When we went to Yappy Hour tonight, we saw this otherwise highly energetic young pug named Mojo. He's clearly crashed hard.

We dog folk have a saying -- a tired puppy is a happy puppy!
