Catchup 4 of 7 -- Beer Sampler

Sampler3

Visited our one of our local microbrewery chains and had their sampler.

Catchup 3 of 7 -- All better now

CIMG2643

Ugh, a day passed and so I have 7 that I have to complete now before I'm caught up completely.

Well, on the bright side, the damage that the rotten cowardly SOB did to my car last week is now repaired. It cost us our deductable (plus a bit of the rental car beyond what was covered by the insurance), but we are good to go.

Catchup 2 of 6 -- Clayton and Raissa

CIMG2618

Taken at an Easter brunch

Man, do I have a lot of catching up to do -- 1 of 6

By my count, I'm 6 posts behind. I'm not going to get all 6 of them done tonight, but I'm working to get what I can. Also, don't expect my best work, but...

This is my old dead gas grill. We are giving it away via Craigslist. It's about 10 years old, but it did some good grilling in it's day.

Playing around with exposure and histograms -- Ziggy

Ziggy

The flash was hurting his eyes, so I blocked it with my hand. This, of course, made the picture too dark. When I tired to lighten it, I found I liked the results.

Prepare to stop

Prepare to stop

On this strip of Skyline (aka Highway 35) these signs tell you that the light is about to turn red. They are timed REALLY well -- if that sign lights up, you better start to brake. I don't care if the light is green and you don't think it is anywhere near turning red, if the sign is lit, it *will* be red by the time you get to the intersection.

Presidio Cemetery

Presidio Cemetery

YIKES -- I'm 3 pictures behind!!

This is the National Cemetery at the Presidio. This is the only place inside the city of San Francisco were a body can be buried legally. Cremains can be kept at either the Columbarium in the outer Richmond or the much smaller columbarium at Grace Cathederal, but if you don't to be burned up, you're only hope for spending eternity in San Francisco is to be a honorably discharged veteran who has already (about 10 years ago) made your reservation here.

QR Code

qrcode

I've been playing around with QR codes. This is the latest rage in Japan -- they tag everything with these things, then their cellphones all have applications (like the one found at here) that interact with their cellphone cameras and read and interpret the symbol. Often, it is a link to a website (which is what this one is).

So, here is another one -- this one has a secret message in it. Of course, you'll have to figure out for yourself how to get it read! Enjoy...

Arnie at his new home

Arnie at his new place

I've been all teary-eyed today. We dropped off Arnie at his new foster home yesterday. I really miss the marshmallow, but I'm completely thrilled that he's where he is now. He is happy as a clam with these wonderful people, who have fostered a whole bunch of dogs over the years.

Ducks at Stowe Lake

Yeah, I know -- I'm behind a couple of days. I'm going to post two today and two tomorrow to catch up.

This one was taken at Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park.

April Theme Day -- Yellow

Lombard curve sign

This is the curve warning sign at the top of Lombard street, aka "the curviest street in the world" (which, if you've been following my blog for a long time, you know is not really true -- Vermont street is actually curvier).

There are over a hundred other blogs participating in this theme day,
