Downtown Statue

DSC_0007

The artist of this statue was Leonard McMurray. A full shot of the piece is below.

Leonard was the father of my brother's best friend when he was in high school. He was a great sculptor, creating a number of fairly famous works. Among his works in Oklahoma are The 89er, at the Oklahoma City Civic Center, The Legend of the Great Westerner (informally called "Buffalo Bill") at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, and Healing Hands, at City of Faith Hospital/Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. He passed away just last year.

Clemmy wants in the pool!

Let Me In

Our new "$49" pool (not including the $25 in chemicals, the $10 tarp that goes under it, etc, etc). Austin (my grandson) and I were swimming around in it and Clemmy started to try to climb in.

Eventually, we picked her up and put her in the water, and she had the time of her life!

PROUD MOMENT OF THE YEAR, 2009!!

DSC_0058

Ok, I'm gonna try to be back now.

This picture was taken with tears in my eyes as I watched my son receive his Bachelor's Degree (BA, Economics -- know anyone looking for someone with such a degree?) from the University of California, Davis.

As you may, or may not know, the relocation to Oklahoma City is complete. I will be posting pictures from my new/old home town (I grew up here) from now on (barring vacations, etc).
