Ok, so one recurring theme you are likely to see over the course of the next year is The Big Orange Bridge (aka The Golden Gate Bridge).
When I first moved to San Francisco, I was driving down this major street (I can't spell thoro-fare) that runs through the Sunset and Richmond Districts -- 19th Street. Between Quintara and Pacheco on this street, you get the very first glimpse of the towers of the BOB. The effect can actually be quite staggering -- you are still about 8 miles from the bridge at this point (see this link for a map of where this picture was taken). I think, that day in 2000, I actually fell in love with this city and that bridge.
I haven't said it yet, but I do intend on taking all of these pictures on the day they are posted. Although the pictures speaks to that moment in 2000, it was taken at about 4:50pm PST today, January 31, 2007.

Aww that's an awesome pic and an awesome story behind it. Makes me kinda want to cry because I too am IN LOVE with San Fran! I miss it, and I miss y'all!
I like the row of cars and buildings in a line drawing your gaze to the BOB...good photo.
