The avenues in the sunset district of San Francisco has almost no underground wires. This part of the city is a mish-mash of interconnected electrical, cable, and phone wires.
It makes it challenging to get good shots because they are always "contaminated" by wires, but it also presents opportunities to get shots like this, with the beauty inherent in chaos.

I didn't live in the Sunset... I lived in the Upper Haight (if I had been an owner and not a renter, I would have called it Cole Valley), but I used to love to walk through the Sunset to Marnee Thai and to the beach.
How I miss my city by the Bay, now that I'm a midwesterner! Thank you for a lovely, heartfelt blog.
