Today was, it seems, a perfect day (wind wise) for hang gliding off of Fort Funston. They have a great deck there for observing and taking pictures, and I've used it before (see the best picture of last year on January 1, 2009).
Unfortunately, shortly after this picture was taken, I heard a news story about a paraglider who's body was discovered off the coast not too far from this point.

excellent photo. i am brave and adventurous for many activities, but hang gliding is not one of them. there are always so many accidents. it looks peaceful though to be up there just above the noise line, like parasailing, which I do love.
