Just off the Embarcadero, down Green Street, right next the building where Philo Farnsworth first fired up his image dissector in 1927, giving birth to the modern television, is a set of stairs that lead up to Coit Tower.
I tried walking up these stairs a few weeks ago, and, well, this is as close as I got to the tower.
One of these days, I'll get all the way up.

Are these the Filbert Steps? They are beautiful in the spring with all the flowers blooming.
