State Capitol -- no oil wells this time

A replica of Wylie Post's airplane, which hangs in the atrium of the Oklahoma Museum of History, near the state capitol.

We sat under this tonight while we watched an amazing performance by members of the Red Dirt Rangers. The play, "Time Changes Everything" is an imagining of a couple of meetings between Woody Guthrie and Bob Wills. This was followed by performance by RDR. Even though Caryn and I had to take our lives into our hands going out in the snow, it was WELL worth it.

Oklahoma State Capitol Building

We were one of the last states with a dome (just installed in 2002), and, as far as I know, we are the only state with an active, producing oil well in the visitor's parking lot.
