The fog rolls in...

Warmish days = foggy evenings around here. As I left work tonight, I caught this wall of fog headed down the hill at us.

Foggy Christmas Eve Eve

It was a nice, pretty, clear day all day today, but about 9:00, the fog moved in.

It got to be 11:00, and I didn't have a picture, so I took out the tripod and went out to catch the interplay of streetlights in the fog.

FogFall

Marine Layer creaping over the mountains of Brisbane, just south of San Francisco.

The fog rides over the mountain and slowly falls down the hill. We call it fogfall, and it is so interesting to see the blanket rolling down and over the crest. Tendrils and fingers of cloudy moisture extending towards the bay.

Sometimes, the pictures come EARLY -- in this case, about 6:30am.

I looked out the window at the end of the hall one my way downstairs to get get something for Ziggy, saw this site, grabbed the trusty D70, and snap.

I liked this picture because of the contrasts. The close focus of the bird and the guy looking out onto the beach versus the shrouding of the Cliff House and "Bird Poop Rock" by the fog (aka Marine Layer).
