ABC Wednesdays -- P is for Papillion-Poodle Pooch.

DSC_0001

Clementine is our little supermodel. She is actually the featured (page 28 and 29) example of a Papi-Poo in Designer Dogs: Portraits and Profiles of Popular New Crossbreeds by Caroline Coile.

Clemmy and Austin watch the Peanuts Christmas Special (on Tivo)

Austin and Clemmy watch Peanuts Christmas

Our first chance to spend some time with Austin since the big Christmas blizzard. We put on the Peanuts Christmas Special (which we had Tivo'ed), and Clem just jumped in to the chair and started watching with him.

Clemmy wants in the pool!

Let Me In

Our new "$49" pool (not including the $25 in chemicals, the $10 tarp that goes under it, etc, etc). Austin (my grandson) and I were swimming around in it and Clemmy started to try to climb in.

Eventually, we picked her up and put her in the water, and she had the time of her life!

Doggies and a blanket

Doggies in a blanket

I really like the subtle contrast of the color of the blanket against the black doggies.

The last doggie picture for a while -- I promise!!

The two doggies

Ziggy got groomed today, and I caught them on playing and got them to look up at the camera at the same time.

Yeah, I know, this is supposed to be the San Francisco Bay Area photo blog, not the "Franson's Dogs" photo blog. The year is early -- it will get better...

'Sup?

'Sup?

Ok, now that you've seen the title, you won't be able to look at the picture without thinking about Ziggy catching your eye as you walk in the room, and cooly saying "'Sup?"

Just too funny...

And for equal time -- here's a nice picture of our perfect young lady papa-poo...

Why are you always taking my picture?

The pups...

Ziggy up close

Ziggy looking adorable. We have a framed picture very similar to this that Caryn took after he had been digging in the dirt -- this is the "Clean" version.

There are some eyes in there somewhere

And our Clemmy -- the big sister who, apparently, has no eyes. Don't you just love that happy smile?

Tomorrow, the groomer comes and they'll both look a LOT different.

Now how friggin cute is that...

A cloth rose, a freshly brushed face, and a quick shutter. Add in a little cropping, and poof...

We missed our puppies!!...

The D70 battery was dead, so I was forced to try and take some pictures with the Exlim (with it's cracked viewfinder making focusing impossible).

We had just picked up the puppies from our seriously wonderful doggie sitter, and after a nice taco and wine "Yappy Hour", we came home.

Giving up the love...

Unconditional love. You gotta respect that.

Puppies offer unconditional love. They don't care if you just came home from the salt mines and stink to high heaven. They just want to revel in your mere presence.

The kiddos with their bones...

Nick nack paddy-whack give a dog a bone.

Give these dogs bones, and they stop fighting/playing long enough to chew them down a bit.

Grooming day...

We LOVE our groomer. Luna is a sweet lady who comes to our house, babies our babies and makes them beautiful, and doesn't charge us an arm or a leg.

The last time she was here (April 17th) her water broke while she was here and she gave birth the very next day. She just finished her Maternity leave and man, did our puppies need her.

Before

After

I love the way they feel the day they've been groomed. It's like petting velvet, plus they smell good!

In the interest of full disclosure, these pictures were actually taken by my ADORABLE wife, Caryn. Thanks babe -- good job!!

The papillion part of Clemmy comes through...

Clementine is part papillion and part poodle. The papillion usually only comes out one ear at a time, but when she's excited about performing a trick and getting a treat, she'll often go both ears up.

One of these 2 cut one...

Now, I'm not pointing fingers or anything, but someone in this picture just pooted.

Was it a case of "he who smelt it dealt it", does that happy look on the puppy belay a stink in progress?
