Sometimes, you just gotta look up...

Moon-trail-plane

I walked out of the house this morning prepared for the daily drag, and what did I catch, but this site.

I love that moon, and the condensation trail from a previous plane, combined with the jetliner coming into SFO were just the perfect composition.

Full moon over South San Francisco

On the way to the grocery store this evening, I saw this HUGE, bright, full moon.

Long shutter catches a plane...

One of these days, I'm gonna get me a REALLY nice telescope with a camera mount (like my cousin's husband's rig, which I'm SERIOUSLY jealous of). Until then, I'm trying to figure out how to take pictures of the moon, especially like it was tonight (waxing crescent with Venus close by).

With the shutter open long enough to catch the light of the moon, a plane crossed in front of the lens (we are only about 3 miles from SFO, and a lot of Pacific bound flights fly fairly close overhead).
