I've been corrected -- these are actually cattails (one of the Typha varieties), not pussywillows. My apologies for misleading you.

Sunday catch up -- Daffodils

Well, I don't have the Trader Joe's Sticks, but I do have the daffodils growing in my front yard!

Caryn's daliahs fill up another day's picture...

Yeah, I know, I've posted the daliahs before, but they are pretty and, well, it's one of those "having trouble taking any good pics today" days.

Give me a break -- this is 172 consecutive unbroken days of a picture a day. I'm pretty sure that this is the longest I've ever done anything every day without a break.

A Rose, by any other name...

Or, in this case, by that very name. This was part of a $4.99 Trader Joe's bouquet. Gawd, I love that store!

Orchid and the new toy...

The oh-so-sweet-and-awesome-wife gave me an early birthday present -- not, not the flower. It was a professional-style mini-photo studio. 2 sizes of collapsable photo tents with colored backdrops, lights, a tripod, and a handy carrying case for the whole she-bang.

Mind you, I've got a BUNCH to learn about these things (light placement, choice of backdrop, etc), but I really like it).

I'll take a picture of the whole thing for my birthday (a week from Saturday, in case you are looking for an opportunity buy something expensive for one of your favorite bloggers!!).

I went for a short walk to the Bart station this evening. There is a new-ish apartment complex across the street from the station, and they have these really interesting plants in the landscaping.

Mum's a poppin...

I liked the way that the buds of the mum seem to pop out of the background on this picture. It gives a real 3-D feel to the picture.

Mother's Day Orchid...

Sorry for the short description today. It's been a busy, busy Mother's day, and I'm just now sitting down to pop a picture up before bedtime.

This is Andy's gift to his mom -- a very nice Orchid.

Thousands of chances ...

It was a beautiful day here today. We had gorgeous blue skies. We even went into the city *TWICE* today.

The camera, however, never made it out of the house. I forgot to grab it this morning, then I had to put it on the battery charger at lunch, and then I forgot to grab it again when we went to go pick Clemmy up.

As a result, you get a close-up of a flower in my back yard, taken after dinner (around 8:00pm).

Tonight was Yappy hour, and we had a good time with shish-k-bobs and some really good cheese, plus great conversations with Shura's other clients, plus her dad and step-mom.
