Speed racer...

The wife and a number of her friends were at a week-long crop (scrapbooking convocation). I came to the hotel to visit her, and, as the the thing closed down, I assisted in loading the massive scrapbooking supply containers into the various vehicles. Passing through the door several times, I kept seeing this snail slowly crossing the sidewalk directly in front.

I watched this little determined guy walk about 10' (which, in snail, translates to about 50 miles) over the course of about 30 minutes.

Within 5 minutes of this pic, someone else rolled a suitcase over him.

A Weird thing I came across today...

Take a close look at the first picture. About 2 feet above the 2nd pane of window from the left corner of the building, you'll see a little dot.





















Let's zoom in on that dot.






Yes, it's a snail. That snail has climbed nearly 15 feet up on the side of a stucco textured building. This begs a number of questions, not the least of which are:

1) how the hell does a snail climb 15 feet up a building like that?

2) where does he think he's going, and what does he think he'll find when he gets there

It's the little, bizzare eccentricities of life that I love to catch on "film".
